When the advisor is the borrower or co-borrower

Please be aware that when an advisor applies for an Investment or RRSP Loan as either the primary borrower, or co-borrower on the Investment Loan Application, B2B Trust requires that a second and unrelated advisor sign the application form.

B2B Trust is committed to complying with all regulatory requirements. In order to ensure that proper identification has been reviewed when B2B Trust receives an Investment Loan Application, B2B Trust requires that another licensed advisor carry out this responsibility. When an advisor signs as the Designated Advisor, they are stating that they have met with the borrower to view the proper identification.

Important notes:

  • The Designated Advisor section on page one of the Investment Loan Application must be completed by the borrower as they are the advisor of record. Another licensed advisor (other than the borrower) is required to sign and provide their Dealer/Rep code beside their signature in the ‘Advisor to complete this section’ of the Investment Loan Application.
  • Original signatures are required by B2B Trust.
  • Be sure to use the most current application form – visit b2btrust.com/forms.
  • We encourage you to provide the original, completed and signed application along with all required supporting documentation for faster funding.
We kindly request that you forward this communication to your advisors.
